The filter membranes from the AllFilter range by AllChimie offer absolute retention and high flow rates for sterile and non-sterile microfiltration in the laboratory. They are the reference tool for fine filtration, sterile clarification and preparation of critical samples.
Membranes are available in several technical materials suited to each application: PES (polyethersulfone) for aqueous solutions and buffers, PTFE for aggressive organic solvents, nylon for general versatility, and cellulose acetate for low protein binding applications.
Material and porosity selection (typically 0.22 µm or 0.45 µm) is based on chemical compatibility, sample type and size of particles to be retained. Applications: sterilising filtration of culture media, buffer clarification, microbiological analysis by counting, HPLC sample preparation on large volumes.
Membranes are mounted on a vacuum filtration kit with vacuum flask and 47 mm fritted support, connected to a pump via laboratory tubing. For small-volume filtrations in analytical sample preparation, syringe filters offer a faster and more practical alternative. The filtrate can be collected in a volumetric flask or a sterile Erlenmeyer flask.
