Activated carbon filter paper

The activated carbon filter paper from the AllFilter range by AllChimie combines the mechanical filtration of a cellulose paper with the adsorption properties of activated carbon. This specific consumable allows simultaneous solid/liquid separation and chemical purification treatment.

Activated carbon retains organic impurities, coloured pigments, oils and undesired compounds in solution by surface adsorption. This dual function is particularly useful for solution decolouration, purification of synthesis products and elimination of by-products during recrystallisation.

Typical applications cover organic synthesis chemistry (purification of crystalline products), decolouration operations before spectrophotometric analysis, and preliminary treatment of food or cosmetic samples before assay.

This paper is typically used in a glass funnel with a recrystallisation flask, or in a vacuum filtration setup using a filtration kit. For routine filtrations without adsorption requirements, consider the standard filter, or the qualitative analytical filter papers for more rigorous analyses.
